Challenge: Create grassroots campaign targeting 16-30 year olds to raise awareness about Zakat (Islamic obligatory alms-giving)—a religious obligation many young Muslims don't fully understand or prioritize.
Strategic Approach: Make ancient religious practice relevant to contemporary youth through bold, comic-inspired visual language. Navigate cultural sensitivities around figurative representation in Islamic art while maintaining visual impact.
Solution": Developed 'Zakat Heroes' campaign with contemporary comic typography, simple messaging, and clear calls-to-action. Collaborated with illustrator Ross Smith to create stylized drawing style using minimal facial details—respecting Islamic sensibilities while delivering visual punch through textures and vivid color palette. Art directed and storyboarded animation to extend campaign reach across social channels.
Impact: Youth-focused campaign that increased Zakat awareness and compliance among 16-30 demographic through culturally-informed creative approach.
