Challenge: Give visibility to Black Muslim experiences and contributions in London's diverse Muslim community—a demographic often underrepresented in mainstream narratives.
Strategic Approach: Create campaign that celebrates Black Muslim identity with dignity and nuance, avoiding both erasure and tokenism.
Solution: A bold typographical style was implemented that took inspiration from record sleeves and posters during the time of when the black community established itself from the 1950’s.
Impact: Campaign that authentically represents Black Muslim Londoners and expands representation within both Muslim and Black British communities.
